New Light Children Center Organization (NELICO) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act No. 24 of 2002 on 28th March 2006 and was given the registration certificate No. OONGO/0739.
NELICO started its operations in Geita District in March of 2004 as a small non-governmental organization focusing on support to orphans and the most vulnerable children. The start of the organization was motivated by the desire to address the issues of HIV/AIDS and orphans in the district.
Our Mission
Our Target Audiences
The organization’s target audiences are children, youth and marginalized groups, also in the rural communities.
Quality Education
Children need a safe environment to be able to learn, this is why we established a protection system in and out of school to ensure quality ......
Youth Project
We have been able to provide income-generating tools to vulnerable groups, especially those at risk when it comes to sexual reproductive health and rights....
Legal Aid Project
We have been able to offer legal aid to people who cannot afford to pay for it secondly we have raise awareness to help community and children understand their rights
Orphans and Vulnerable Children
Establishment of Yohanna Memorial Drop-In Center, where we are able to accommodate up to 50 children who are victims of child (sexual) violence
