WHERE WE WORK
New Light Children Center Organization (NELICO) works in eight regions of Tanzania, as shown on the map. Our programs reach rural and urban communities across the Lake Zone and neighboring areas, where we serve children, women, girls, youth and persons with disabilities.
In every community, we turn our commitments into action. We support inclusive education, protect and safeguard children, and work to prevent gender-based violence. We provide legal aid and human rights protection, and we empower women and young people to build sustainable livelihoods. We also promote environmental protection and climate sustainability, and we deliver health education, testing and counseling on HIV/AIDS, malaria and TB.
By working closely with local leaders, families and partners, we make sure support reaches the people who need it most, and that no one is left behind
Our Areas of Operation
What We do
At New Light Children Center Organization (NELICO), we are dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups, particularly women and children, through a variety of focused initiatives. We provide education, testing, and counseling services to those affected by HIV/AIDS, offer comprehensive care to orphans and vulnerable children, and assist individuals with legal aid to ensure their rights are protected. Our environmental protection and climate sustainability projects promote conservation and sustainable practices, while our gender equality programs empower women and combat discrimination.
Additionally, we conduct malaria prevention initiatives, including the distribution of mosquito nets and educational campaigns. Through these efforts, we strive to enhance the well-being and prospects of the most at-risk populations in our community.
Where We Work
New Light Children Center Organization (NELICO) operates primarily in the Lake Zone region of Tanzania, covering a wide geographical area that includes the following regions: Geita, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Simiyu, Kagera, Mara, Katavi, and Singida. Our outreach extends across these regions, allowing us to effectively address the needs of vulnerable communities and individuals in diverse locations.
By strategically focusing our efforts in these areas, we aim to maximize our impact and reach those most in need of our support and services
